Beginning with a field test in 2020, the focus of early Maine Dental Connection programs has been reaching students in Head Start programs. In the school year 2023-2024, over 57 Head Start sites in 9 Maine counties offered this program and over 600 students enrolled to receive care. The vision is to expand this program to reach more Maine children at childcare centers, in school, and beyond.
